Instructions to Competitors
Here are your translation materials.
Beginning level competitors will do two translations: English to Gaelic and Gaelic to English.
Please type your translations, double-spaced, and use accent marks where needed. If you do not know how to use accent marks on your computer, you may use a slash after each vowel that should have an accent. For instance, mòr OR mo\r.
You also have a speaking exercise to complete. Please record the Beginner Gaelic file above as an mp3 file or on a cassette tape.

Intermediate and advanced level competitors will do two written translations plus a listening exercise and a speaking exercise.
The materials you submit will consist of four parts.
1. Written translation (for download above) - Gaelic to English
2. Speaking exercise - record the above passage in Gaelic as an mp3 file, or onto an audio cassette.
3. Written translation (for download above) - English to Gaelic
4. Listening exercise (for download above) - translate the sound file into comfortable written English
